Better Avocado Toast

Look for avocados that are ripe for optimal flavour and consistency. A ripe avocado is dark green/black and semi-soft to the touch.

Ingredients

1 to 2 slices of gluten-free or wholegrain bread
1 ripe avocado
Sea salt to taste 


Toppings of choice, such as:

Chilli flakes and extra virgin olive oil
Sliced cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and olive oil
Sliced cucumber and dill
Strawberries and balsamic vinegar drizzle
Mango, coriander and lime juice
Sesame seeds and rice vinegar drizzle
Pomegranate seeds and walnuts
Radish and mixed sprouts 

Preparation

  1. Toast the bread to your desired darkness
  2. Spread ½ a ripe avocado on each slice of toast. Use a fork for easy mashing.
  3. Sprinkle with sea salt
  4. Top with one of the combinations in any amount desired and dive in!
