Summer is here, the blue sky is out and every one is getting ready for their summer holiday. So we asked Personal Trainer and Fitness Blogger, Lucy Ingram (@LifestyleLucyPT) to share her top 3 wellness tips for the summer....
Your day to day choices not only influence your health but also your vitality as you age.
Outlined below are my top 3 tips to try and incorporate into your daily routine to create new healthy habits this summer.
1. Drink more water
Don’t underestimate the power of drinking water and staying hydrated. Our bodies are made up of around 60% of water, making it an essential component to our diet. Staying well hydrated can provide us with many health benefits such as glowing skin, well-functioning organs, healthier teeth, bones and joints, as well as maintaining a healthy digestive system. Drinking a sufficient amount of water can also help to curb hunger as we can often feel hungry when we are in fact thirsty. Try incorporating more water into your daily diet!
2. Move more, outside
With the summer months upon us and the beautiful weather on its way, try your best to get outdoors more. Go for long walks, enjoy the parks and walk or cycle to work. Try to reach 10,000 steps a day and disconnect from your phone whilst doing so.
3. Eat well
Try to increase the amount of fruit and vegetables you are consuming. By eating an array of different fruit and vegetables, you will be consuming a variety of key vitamins, minerals & antioxidants - which is crucial for optimal health.
